Creativity is Deserting Me!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ...................

a little pressure here to let everyone know that all is well, food is delish and I am doing just fine. I think I have explained that food is the main focus - sorry. An old friend from high school is suggesting Spanyx (I could check that spelling, but I won't) since all I talk about is what I'm eating, but I feel no need to go there. I'll just tell you that my sweet neighbor across the street brought us a really fine barbeque dinner last night and we are still trying to figure out where it came from. I love things that I can taste!

Another dear friend is bringing dinner tonight and then we have Dallas relatives coming in for the weekend to look forward to. I imagine that there are other dinners in between, too. Seems terrible to like food this much - when there is nothing else to do, I guess that what one does.

I know that I can be creative so if any of you have any suggestions on topics to write about, please let me know - I am certain that I can write a doozy of a fantasy that will entertain us all. In the meantime, we'll just be bored together!

Miss you all - xxxgbg

  2. If you want to write my story for Conquest, I will not complain! Seriously, how many times in your life have you had too FEW things to write?? This must be a first.

We miss you here. Miss hearing your laugh and your voice on the other side of the wall.

I want to do "Enchilada night" for you and your family (with no guest speakers, as I am sure you've had plenty recently!) Just let me know when. . .I think it's supposed to be on a Tuesday, right? Or Thursday?

Keep on blogging. . .we love reading! And by the way, you don't need no stinkin' Spanx!

    Cheers,
    DeDe

  4. I wasn't sure you were reading your other emails from your work address so....I am sending you a "comment" about....you guessed it...food. I have you for Friday (or should I say...you have me). I noticed you are having Spinach Lasagna tomorrow...or maybe tonight???..so I thought I had better make (or buy) something else. I also can do Chicken in wine sauce with rice OR I am really, really good at doing take outs from ANY restaurant. Let me know if there is something you really miss...and how many are going to be there since you are having out-of-towners this weekend who may be there Friday! Just email me via pshuford@parkersu.com....I am excited to furnish "whatever your heart desires"(since I am not a culinary expert, I love suggestions for the entire meal...salad, veggie, dessert).

    Pat

  5. You even have a subliminal suggestion of food in your headline...albeit spelled differently than our favorite part of the meal -- dear Gail, a woman after my own heart! Just think of boredom as a good thing and "keep on keepin' on" with these wonderful blog posts! Have a great Mother's Day! -- Sarah W.

  7. You can start writing a book about yourself! A best seller, I'm sure!

  8. Gail, I thought you had been "desserted" - but read on to learn you had been "bar-b-qued" instead!

With this down-time, how about writing a book about FOOD? You are surrounded by inspiration... the menus, the recipes, the cooks, the deliveries, the containers, the leftovers, etc.

    Titles to consider...
    Convalescing ON STEROIDS
You can Feed a Cold but You Can't Starve a Tumor
    Life’s Little CONSUMPTION Book
    Singing for your Supper
    And, of course, the obvious…
    BRAIN FOOD… The Brainiac’s Guide

You MUST keep those creativity juices flowing!
I love you and like you...

  9. Gail,
I read your blog every day. There's no reason to feel pressure to be creative. We just want to keep in touch. People bringing food to the door would be reason to celebrate in my household.
    Love, Jacque
