Hi, all - just a quick check-in to let you know that I'm doing fine. Right now, I'm waiting on visitors so this will be very short .....................
Visitors arrived - four in all - and then I had a nice little nap. Thanks, as usual, for the food, cards and flowers. I think that tonight will be a snacky night - we'll save that yummy casserole for later this weekend.
Your children are dreamy, what fun to have them home.
Rest and watch the food channel until the Contessa simply explodes from all the French food she prepares for Jeffery each Friday.
Of you go could completely insane listening to Paula Dean hollar like she just fell off the hay wagon. We ate there in Savannah, what a bucket of lard with hundreds of people in RV's waiting to get in.
Watch for Matthew Kinney. He is super. Makes the best pear/San Danellie prochuttio/lavendar honey/homemade mayo/fresh basil eaves/pile of Hill Blue Cheese sandwich on a thin slice of toasted Baguette.
Sounds like you'll be having a fun Mother's Day weekend surrounded by family. We'll be doing the same. Please wish SDB happy mother's day from me, too. Jacque
Gail, I am sooo behind in reading the blogs. But if you go to Santa Fe, I have some suggestions for you: 1) Ten Thousand Waves Spa - a MUST. You can even stay there. http://www.tenthousandwaves.com/
2) I typically stay at Ghost Ranch, a Presbyterian retreat center located 2-3 blocks from the Plaza in Santa Fe. It is low-key, the staff is very loving and the energy is good. However, if you want something more posh, I would recommend the Inn & Spa at Loretto: http://www.innatloretto.com/santa-fe-hotel-accommodations.php
They have a restaurant that has a great background in the evenings... yummy chocolate sopapillas and good food.
If you and your friends have time to go to Ghost Ranch Abiquiu, it is quite peaceful. (It is also a drive.) Desolate, but peaceful. Georgie O'Keefe resided nearby and the scenery is the setting for some of her paintings. Another piece of trivia: Abiquiu is also the setting for the movie, City Slickers. They still have the wooden cabin there. Ghost Ranch's website follows: www.ghostranch.org
3) Speaking of O'Keefe, you will want to see the museum: http://www.okeeffemuseum.org/home.aspx
4) Cafe Pasqual's is always fun and busy - expect a line: http://www.pasquals.com/
5)Plaza Cafe - right in the heart of the plaza; yummy bluecorn pancakes: http://www.thefamousplazacafe.com/
6) I always go to the Loretto Chapel - love the story: http://www.lorettochapel.com/
Will write more - unless you want me to stop!!! Love you. Edith
Hi Gail, only learned yesterday what was going on with you. I know you have many friends and relatives who love you so much and are taking good care of you. But, I want to add that i am in your corner as well. I think maybe Susan and I can help you on that dancing thing when you're ready. Pat
Add me to the list of those sending you fondest Mother's Day wishes. Get your rest, hang in there, and come back to the 5th floor as soon as you're up to it. You are missed.
So glad to hear you're making small strides and being well fed while doing it!:) I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day. And I'm thrilled to see your progress. Melissa
